NAVIGATING LIFE TOGETHER:
FROM THE BATTLEFIELD TO HOME

Empowering IDF Lone Soldier Veterans Outside of Israel With Support and Community, One Hero at a Time.

A LIFESAVING MISSION: SUPPORTING LONE SOLDIERS BEYOND SERVICE.

For IDF Lone Soldiers Veterans, transitioning from military to civilian life is one of the hardest journeys they’ll ever face. They’ve already sacrificed so much—leaving their homes, families, and everything familiar to serve. Then, they return to a world that often doesn’t understand their struggles.

BUILDING A LIFELINE FOR VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES

What is a lone soldier veteran?

A Lone Soldier Veteran is someone who has served in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) without the support of immediate family in Israel. These individuals may be new immigrants, volunteers from abroad, orphans, or individuals from broken homes. During their service, they face unique challenges both on and off the base.

After completing their service, Lone Soldier Veterans begin a new chapter in life, often facing significant hurdles as they transition to civilian life. This is especially true for those returning to the United States, where resources for IDF veterans are scarce, and they find themselves in communities where few understand the experience of military service. Unlike in Israel, where veterans are surrounded by peers who share similar stories, these veterans in the U.S. must navigate their transition largely on their own.

WHAT OUR VETERANS ARE SAYING

My friend Jason and I served in the Kfir brigade and often talked about our IDF days. We always wished for a program just for former lone soldiers like us. Then we found Nevut at a Crown Heights BBQ. Since then, we’ve watched it grow, with events getting bigger and chapters forming nationwide. Today, Jason and I are involved in Nevut’s Tzemed program, pairing lone soldiers to support one another—just one of many amazing initiatives Nevut has developed over time.

Life gets difficult with transitioning back to civilian life, but Nevut never fails to give me great experiences that changed my life and my attitude in the best way. Nevut gave me motivation to keep going and the opportunity to give back when I can.

Thank you so much for making things like this happen. It means so much that someone cares and is doing things to bring us together and support us. And of course, it’s been a ton of fun!

Nevut has been a tremendous source of support for me after I finished my service all the way through two tours in Gaza during operation Iron Swords. From comunity to mental health resources and covering therapy costs. I feel like I have someone to rely on in timw of need.

Growing up, I never felt part of anything, even more so after I completed the military. Then Nevut came along and now I’ve found where I belong. The Shabbatons are so refreshing and I love connecting with other veterans. Nevut is my family and I’ve never been more happy to be a part of the community. Thank you Nevut!

After my military service, life felt overwhelming, and I wasn’t sure where to turn. Nevut became my anchor. Through their therapy programs, I found ways to overcome my trauma. They guided me in rediscovering my path, from figuring out career options to building a future I could be proud of. Most importantly, Nevut provided a community where I truly belong. It’s been an incredible part of my journey, and I’ll always be grateful.
