Transitioning from army life in Israel to normal life here in NY was not an easy one. I moved to a new state where I knew very few people, but thanks to Nevut I was able to make new connections with former lone soldiers who I can now call my friends. I have fun events to look forward to and a second family I can always count on for support.
Career Advancement
Programs
Mayan Khakshoor, Search and Rescue
After being released from the army it was really hard for me to find a path and feel connected to those around me. The Nevut community really helped me find my way and feel part of something meaningful again. Recently, I was awarded a Nevut Career Advancement Learning Scholarship. After my years in the army I was placed in lower level college math courses. This scholarship will allow me to get my math skills back on track and prepare me for a degree in biomedical engineering.

After my IDF service, Nevut helped me recognize and harness the valuable mindsets, skills and ethics that manifested from my service. Those life lessons helped catapult me into the professional world and taught me to think differently than others, to collaborate, to build relationships and to find success in helping others.
Life gets difficult with transitioning back to civilian life, but you never fail to give us great experiences which change my life and my attitude in the best way. You give me motivation to keep going and the opportunity to give back when I can.
