Dr. Miryam Sperka and Dr. Erik Pollak will be answering your questions about the challenges you or your children may be facing. You can submit topics you’d like them to discuss and any specific questions you’d like to be addressed.

Dr. Eric Pollak: Eric is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in the treatment of CBT for anxiety, OCD, sleep disorders, trauma, and addictions. Dr. Pollak received his masters and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology from Long Island University. He completed his predoctoral internship at the VA Hudson Valley providing evidence-based treatment for PTSD, substance abuse, and insomnia to US Armed Forces veterans and a postdoctoral fellowship at the Yeshiva University Counseling Center. He is currently the Director of Behavioral Health at Ezra Medical Center while also maintaining a private practice in Long Island. Eric has been involved in Nevut and the Lone Soldier population for the past 9 years.

Dr. Miryam Sperka: Miryam is the Training Director for The Center for Psychedelic Therapy Research (CPTR), an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and a clinical psychologist in the Trauma and Readjustment Service at the James J. Peters Veterans Affairs Medical Center. She received her PhD in clinical psychology from Hofstra University. As training director of CPTR, Dr. Sperka runs the MDMA-assisted therapy for PTSD Education Program, which focuses on clinician training and curriculum development to address the specific needs of military and veteran populations. At the VA, Dr. Sperka works with veterans who served in Iraq and Afghanistan and provides trauma-focused therapy, including evidence-based treatments such as prolonged exposure, cognitive processing therapy, and treatments for moral injury. She also trains and supervises psychology doctoral interns and postdoctoral fellows within the PTSD clinic.
